What’s the procedure like?
During the procedure, the Lip Blush Artist will neutralize the lips by cancelling out the original color. Every client requires a different approach to reach the best outcome because every lip is unique. Correcting lip color is not an easy task and because of that, not every Lip Blush Artist is up to the challenge. What makes this procedure challenging is that skin rich in melanin (a natural pigment responsible for skin tone) requires more correction sessions, more careful selection of safe brightening pigments and longer healing.

The artist determines which color to use for neutralization, depending on the nature of your dark lips. Then she will apply numbing cream to ensure your comfort. She will use the needles the to apply the custom pigment to neutralize the dark tones in your lips.
After the initial session, you’ll return for a follow-up session in about 6-8 weeks to determine how much your lips have lightened up. The result is usually a pinkish and peachy shade that looks natural. The artist will put another color of your choice on top, once the lips are healed.

How Long Does Dark Lip Correction Tattoo Last?
The results of lip neutralization can last 2-3 years, with occasional touch-ups recommended to maintain the desired color and address any natural fading.
Can I Get Lip Blush if I Have Dark Lips?
Yes. However, during the first session I will have to neutralize your lips to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial color I tattoo on your lips Must be orange! Any other colours you will risk hyperpigmentation( darken your lips further) or hypopigmentation( white spots in your lips). After 6 weeks when healed, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a nude or pink even tone. Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or even out dark lips may take a few sessions. Under no circumstances will I tattoo a “Nude” or “Pink”
color on dark or cool toned lips. If you are unsure if you have dark or cool toned lips you can send us a picture of your lips in natural light to confirm. Lips too dark or thick will be rejected so please be sure to email pictures if your lips are extremely dark grey or black in color.
Does Dark Lip Correction Work on Everyone?
Some people are not good candidates for dark lip neutralization. Those who have excessive lip hyperpigmentation can end up getting even darker lips after the treatment. That is why most artists don’t want to work on melanin-rich lips. This requires a lot of knowledge and skills, and only highly trained artists are able to do it correctly. So be careful if your lips are hyperpigmented, lip blushing treatment may do more damage than good.
Am I Considered Lip Blush or Lip Neutralization?
If your lips are two-toned, cool, brown, dark looking, you will need to have a neutralization procedure. If you are still not sure, send a photo of your lips in natural lighting via email to new email here
